This year I am very excited to be part of the Chairity 2022 event held by The Green Chair Project. For participating interior designers, it is a fun and creative challenge for a great purpose.
The Green Chair Project is a nonprofit organization that reuses donated furnishings for people facing the challenges of homelessness, crisis or disaster. Since 2010, The Green Chair Project has helped over 12,000 individuals to begin anew. It has partnered with other nonprofit agencies to provide essential furnishings and services to families and individuals.
The Chairity 2022 is a multi-day event that will feature our community's best interior designers, home furnishing manufacturers, and industry professionals, showcasing not only signature chair makeovers but fully curated living spaces. All furniture featured in the showcase will be available for purchase during the event to help support The Green Chair's mission to provide children with beds of their own and furnishings for families.
I am happy that we, interior designers, can serve our community with our talents and give back in a creative way.
For the signature chair makeover, The Green Chair Project provides designers with old chairs. The designers are then tasked to give them a new look.
I felt so lucky that I got this cool chair to work on! I just love the shape of it and how comfortable it is. So, let us roll up our sleeves and get to work…
Shall we come up with a name for this chair?
It will be so much fun to see what my fellow designers create this year. The designers from the 2021 event raised the bar, and we need to do our creative best!
