One of the best ways to create a sophisticated look in bedrooms is to use dark colors. The deep gray painted walls are a great backdrop for the tufted beige headboard, the light wood nightstands and the accent mirrors. Using bedding in various small scale geometric patterns creates visual interest. The subtle shagreen texture of the lamp base adds to the mix of textures. Convex mirrors give an illusion of depth. Above the dresser, we assembled a vignette incorporating our client’s artwork, a modern lamp, a stack of books and a set of Chinese calligraphy brushes. The red upholstered chair added a bright accent.
